1. To Reach Seekers

We envision a community that does not exist to serve itself, but whose very life comes from drawing those who are outside of God's family into His family. This will be a church where thousands of seeking men, women and children have the opportunity to experience the message of the Bible in a relevant way. Individuals who hear and respond to the Truth, will enter into a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ as their forgiver and leader, and be baptized to signify their desire to follow Him.

2. To Develop Seeker Ministries

We envision a church where all people are valued because they are treasured by God. New Bridge Community Church will be a safe place where seekers feel as welcomed as the committed Christ-follower. Our efforts to reach seekers are guided by a desire to become all things to all people, so that by all possible means, some might be saved (1Corinthians 9:22). New Bridge will be guided by this Biblical principle rather than by tradition or by what seems safe and secure, using contemporary and innovative methods within our Biblical freedom. New Bridge will be a place where seekers can encounter and respond to Biblical truth in a variety of ways, including seeker small groups, open forums, youth groups and internet web sites. We envision a church where outreach is not the job of a select few, but where each member is devoted to reaching out to those unbelieving family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers in their sphere of influence.

3. To Build Fully Devoted Followers of Christ

We envision a church not just for seekers, but also a church where Christ-followers are inspired to live out an authentic, growing relationship with God. This is a vision of a membership that will eventually number in the thousands, made up of Christians who are intent on developing a deeper relationship with Jesus and consequently with His people. We will treat the pursuit of wholehearted devotion to Christ and His cause as “normal” for every believer.

4. To Serve God By Utilizing Our Spiritual Gifts

We envision a church where people are considered to be its most valued resource, and where that resource is led with diligence and care. We believe that God has given everyone specific spiritual gifts. New Bridge will be a place where individuals are given guidance to discover how God has equipped them for His service utilizing our time, talents & treasures to be devoted for Kingdom purposes. In addition, we envision New Bridge to be a place where people are given the freedom, encouragement and training they need to do what God has called them to do, in their personal, professional and ministry life.

5. To Develop Small Groups

We envision a church in which hundreds of small groups are becoming biblically functioning communities of believers committed to one another. Believers will achieve their full spiritual potential through life-transforming contact with God’s Word (the Bible) and His people. The number of small groups in New Bridge Community Church will continually grow as a result of the “open chair” philosophy. This mindset prompts groups to continually pray for and add new members. In addition, the development of new small group leaders will be essential to the process. Small groups of all kinds will exist at New Bridge, including new believer groups, discipleship groups, mature believer groups, common task groups, and support groups.

6. To Worship God

We envision worship services that are celebrations of the living, Almighty God and His unrestricted, abundant goodness to us. The individual worshiper will be engaged in mind, body, and spirit, and drawn more deeply into the presence of God Himself. New Bridge will be a church that holds firmly to the Word of God as our final authority for faith and practice and where it is preached with enthusiasm, conviction, and relevance. New Bridge Community Church will have a deep respect for the power of the arts. We will harness the arts in whatever forms possible to glorify God, to touch the hearts of people and to further the ministry of the church.

7. To Manage Our Resources

We envision a church where financial resources will be managed ethically, effectively and efficiently. The funding of ministries will be purpose driven. Funding decisions will not be made merely on the basis of what we did last year, but what will best achieve our stated goals and purposes. We value dependency on God and risk-taking; therefore, the financial “bottom line” will not dictate the direction of the church. New Bridge will be a church that rests on faith in God to accomplish His purposes. This does not mean that decisions will be made haphazardly or without prayerful consideration and input from many sources. It is our belief that the primary source of funding for the ministry of the church should be its members who give to the church as a means to honor God.

8. To Provide Organization and Structure

We envision a church where the physical and organizational structures serve the mission and purpose of the church, not vice versa. We envision a place where the people are the ministers of the church and the staff are the administrators. New Bridge will be a place where it is the job of the leadership to empower the people to do the ministry. Leaders will be allowed to lead, leadership potential will be developed, and the ability to influence others in a positive way will be encouraged in all of us.

9. To Minister To The Needs In Our Community

We envision a church that gives back to its community. New Bridge will be a church that, as it grows, gains the ability to minister more effectively to the specific and distinct needs of the neighborhoods from which it draws. New Bridge will be a place where the compassion of our Savior is extended to all people with whom we come in contact. It will be a force for change in a world marked by moral decay, political corruption, oppression, violence and injustice. As we are commanded by Christ to be salt and light in our world, we will strive to be sensitive to His leading in this area.

10. To Support World Missions

We envision a church where God’s love for people extends beyond our own neighborhoods to the rest of the world. We believe that, in God's timing, New Bridge Community Church will actively fulfill its role in God's plan for reaching the world and will one day, send out hundreds of its members on short-term and long-term mission projects.

11. To Develop Our Own Facilities

We envision a facility whose main purpose is to further the mission of the church. The New Bridge campus must be a place where seekers feel at ease to come and seek God. Distractions or confusing symbols will be removed so that no stumbling block will be in the way of seekers. We envision a campus that capitalizes on the unique challenges of the Northwest weather. Architecturally, the facilities will be open and bright, reflecting the beauty of the Northwest. This campus will include a gym, food court, and children’s play areas. This campus will also include a performing arts auditorium, classrooms for children and adult ministries, and an innovative, biblically-based training center. The facility will be designed to be personal yet utilizing cutting-edge technology to assist in reaching people in today’s high-tech culture.
