Early this morning I received some very good news. My sister, after being on the waiting list for over 6 years, has been granted housing assistance. She lives independently and is a strong community member, with support, mostly my mom has made ends meet in her adult years. This rental assistance means now she can meet her own bills monthly, and also if she can get a part time job after being laid off last spring, she can choose to do it, but will not absolutely need it for financial reasons. It was clear from the very beginning when everyone met him (he came here as a "friend" who was traveling the US for 90 days and staying with different people) that this situation was not right. She was 17 at the time. As soon as she turned 18, it was explained that they are "in love". He is 10 years older, an unbeliever, and has been VERY verbally abusive to Faith and her mother and little sister. She is scheduled to come home May 25th. She wants to come home now because she now knows that this situation is not from God, and longs to do His will, but this boyfriend won't let her leave and continues to manipulate her. This is a very scary situation, especially for her mother. Please pray for strength and for her to get home safely and quickly! Lots of fighting and trying to turn the kids against eachother. Both struggling with sin in the process. Neither parent knows Jesus, and in fact have told the kids that there is no Jesus and they are not allowed to talk and or ask about Him anymore. They have a guardian ad litem in place and it isn't looking good. The children are scared, confused and it's looking like they might be taken away. My husbands sister won't talk to me because she thinks its my fault they are going to be taken away because of how I answered some questions the guardian ad litem asked me. I didnt want to get involved, but was forced to since I nannied the kids for 9 months, this and was one of the closest witnesses to the ugliness they had. My prayer request is that these children (4,6 and 8)are protected and that they receive the attention and love they need, and that God puts people in their life that can continue to share Jesus with them. Also that the parents get the help they need and a wake up call that the kids are suffering from some choices being made and they might lose them... But most importantly that God uses this to transform their lives for the better and that they cling to Jesus and realize the everlasting love He has for them. And a selfish prayer, I am feeling really disconnected from my husbands family now, especially the kids, and I so badly need strength to stand firm and trust that God will be there and will bring good from this giant mess someday. The baby is a boy and they are going to name him Adam. 2. While the situation is serious; it appears that only a small portion of the intestines are outside the body, at this time no other organs are, which is good, and blood flow is good. They will check her every 4 weeks for now and hope to make it to at least 32 weeks before they have to deliver the baby; 36 is even better. She is at 20 weeks right now. They got to tour the hospital and nursery; and even met a couple of families with babies with the same problem which I think really helped them to see what they are facing. At the same time my sister, Eileen, is facing some medical problems from a car accident she was in about 6 months ago. They are struggling with the insurance company; she needs to have surgery on her hip and is also having short term memory problems. Please pray as the Lord leads. Thank you. She has hid this from us and is also an alcoholic who finally agreed to let someone take her to the hospital yesterday. The hospital (in California) is sending her home today on hospice. She has 3 grown children, 2 in the air force, and one child who is 14. Her mind has been hardened against God and she has vocalized and argued with the believers in our family on many occasions. She would rather not speak to someone if they don't agree with her so it's been very touchy for everyone who loves her to speak up to her. She gave up on life a long time ago. My prayers are for her to 'give up' on her hatred and open her heart to the Lord, prayers for comfort, prayers for the family to come be with her and not let her past 'walls' stand in the way.
